Family’s Road Trip Turns Tragic after Deadly Crash on Interstate 15 Near St. George, Utah
Tragedy recently struck for a Utah family after a deadly crash near St. George, Utah occurred on Interstate 15.
The family, traveling in their SUV, was caught off guard when a deer leaped in front of their vehicle. Reino Kerttula, the driver, made a split-second decision to swerve in an attempt to avoid the animal. However, this maneuver caused the SUV to lose control. The SUV fishtailed, collided with the deer, and then proceeded to roll several times. It ultimately crossed over the median and came to a rest on its side.
Trapped inside the overturned vehicle, the family found themselves in a precarious position, stranded sideways in the path of oncoming traffic. In a desperate attempt to save his children, Reino Kerttula managed to extricate himself from the wreckage. However, as this hero was trying to ensure his children’s safety, another tragedy struck. While he was in the midst of the rescue effort, an oncoming vehicle failed to avoid the incident and crashed into Reino, launching him into the air and eventually causing his death. The community is rallying in support, hoping for their speedy recovery from this traumatic ordeal.
